Stuck Between Stations: Behind the Scenes — by MPLS.TV
Whoa this looks great. Though all I could think of was that Craig Finn should just write a screenplay about Minneapolis in the 80s. Now that would be incredible.

Dismissed Richfield basketball coach defends... →
With the rampant open enrollment of the past decade, not just in Richfield but throughout Minnesota, kids who played in the community traveling leagues were getting displaced by students moving into districts.
“You’ve got a small group of traveling (basketball) parents that don’t consider themselves racists, but are pretty good people, yet they want a program of institutional...

– Torii Hunter on Target Field (via 1500ESPN) (via wintwins)
Ok, Torii. I really disliked you that last year you were a Twin. Too much attitude, and it was time for you to go. Unfortunately too, because this quote right here is why we all loved you. Just straight emotions and telling it like it is....
Longfellow Mpls Tumblr →
I started a new blog, this one will be all Longfellow, all of the time. It’s what I’ve been meaning to do with east-lake, but I’m lazy and this is a lot easier.
I also created a Twitter List of Longfellow area people and businesses. Let me know if you live in Longfellow and want to be added to the list. Thanks!

How did we get to this point? It’s the logical consequence of three decades of antigovernment rhetoric, rhetoric that has convinced many voters that a dollar collected in taxes is always a dollar wasted, that the public sector can’t do anything right.
The antigovernment campaign has always been phrased in terms of opposition to waste and fraud — to checks sent...

Stub and Herb's is making some big changes. - US -... →
From now on, you can expect to see more locally produced beer at Stub’s and less of the other great American craft brands that are available in our market. I am sure that this commitment will mean that I will no longer be on the short list of bars that is considered for some of the limited availability kegs that come into MN. Usually, not supporting a brewery’s everyday brands costs...
MNpublius: DFL debate wrap-up →

I have to say, I don’t think the DFL debates have done much to change anybody’s mind. They’ve been largely congenial and the candidates haven’t had major differences on many issues. The one lasting impression I’ve been left with is that I’m thrilled with all three of our candidates. The DFL can’t lose on Tuesday.
Y’all are making this hard for me.
No kidding. I just have...

Turtle Bread coming to Longfellow... →
This makes me so happy!
Greetings, Longfellow Neighbors!
Yes – that’s right. We’re now neighbors. Today, I closed on the property at 4205 E 34th Street (formerly the Pizza Pie and I), where I plan to open a Turtle Bread.
In addition to the usual breads, pastries and other items you may be used to finding at Turtle Bread, I also plan to sell – in addition to Turtle Bread’s standard fare –...
