Twin Cities and Ford: What's next? →
tcdailyplanet: The massive Ford site in St. Paul is opening up for redevelopment…at the worst possible time. They should build the Vikings Stadium there. It could be the “greenest” stadium in the league, completely powered by the Ford Dam.

“Anywhere, this scene would be shocking. In peaceful Norway, it is stunning.”

newtskeeper asked: Where do you play softball in Richfield? Who runs the softball league that you are in? Do you feel that it is a well run league. I've been playing in a Saint Paul City league for the past 3-4 years, but I've been looking for a league that is in Minneapolis or a bit closer than our Saint Paul league.

Thanks,
Tyler

Bilge Rats Softball
I play on a Wednesday night softball league in Richfield with some friends, the first time I’ve played softball in over ten years. I’m not the worst one on the team, but I’m not very good either. Witness our scores so far this year, with the run differential in (). Bilge Rats 10-21 Barley Boys (-11) Bilge Rats 1-22 O.F.M. (Class D) (-21) Bilge Rats 3-15 Southdale YMCA (-12) ...

We Don’t Name Babies to Honor People Any More →
utnereader: How did you choose your child’s name? Or, if you’re still awaiting the first visit from the stork, what are some factors that will affect your naming decision? Will you name the tyke after a great-grandparent or favorite author? Would you still name your son “Colin” or your daughter “Veronica” if a Colin or a Veronica lived down the street? The metrics for every couple and every...

WatchWatch
Went to the Minnesota Zoo (the new zoo for you old timers) this morning with some friends. The highlight was definitely the Coral Reef Exhibit, when the diver feeds the different fish and talks about the coral reef. It was very beautiful to watch. And Dean loved seeing the colorful fish right in front of his eyes.

Star Tribune: Has tale of Twin Cities become one?  →
adambez: Once rivals, the glitzier Minneapolis and the more down-to-earth St. Paul are starting to lose their differences to become a single metropolitan area. I think this article might be satire.  The article was kinda stupid, but for as much as I like to rip on St. Paul, we cross the river on an almost daily basis. My wife works there, we go to the Whole Foods there, we have friends that...

GQ says St. Paul citizens dress like crap | City... →
As if it wasn’t hard enough being the perpetual Jan Brady to Minneapolis’ Marcia (Cindy is, like, Brainerd), now residents have to deal with a national magazine calling St. Paul the 24th worst dressed city in America. To make matters worse, the writer even includes a shout-out to Minneapolis at the end of the description, choosing to call it “younger,” “hipper,” and “boutique-strewn.” It’s like...
