My parents were going through some old cookbooks and they found this amazing Hamm’s recipe book from 1934. I haven’t been able to find any info on it online, but it has to be worth something. Hamm’s stuff at antique stores are always super expensive, and rarely from as old as 1934. Can’t wait to get it framed and hang it up in our house.

Lynx acquire former Gopher point guard standout Lindsay Whalen http://bring.mn/1dm /via @bringMN [I’m mostly ok w/ that.]
I’ll still never understand why they didn’t do this after the draft. Whalen would have put people in the seats, and isn’t that the point of pro sports, especially one like the WNBA?
Nothing stirs the pot in Austin [MN] like immigration, whether it’s legal or illegal. So a series of workshops at the Austin Public Library on Saturday was no exception, as opinions mixed like oil and water. The presentations were hosted by several groups - including the migrant rights group Centro Campesino - as part of “Journey of Hope: Minnesota March for Justice, Opportunity and Against Racism,” a three-day event that begin in Owatonna Friday and ended in Albert Lea Sunday.
Memorial Stadium, University Of Minnesota, Minneapolis
In honor of the Golden Gophers kicking off their new football Stadium today, I share with you this postcard of their orginal on campus stadium. Memorial Stadium also known as the “Brick House” was built in 1924 as the home for the University of Minnesota football team. It was named in honor of the over 3500 students, graduates, and workers who had served in World War I. The Gophers played there from 1924-1981 and they won six national championships (1934,1935,1936,1940,1941,1960) during that time. The Gophers moved to the Metrodome in 1982, and the old Memorial Stadium was torn down in 1992.
I am so excited for tonight’s game in the new stadium, but seeing Memorial Stadium will always remind of how crappy the Dome is, and how beautiful the Brick House was in its prime.
Glensheen Rap. A little rap I wrote about the real OG’s of Duluth, MN. The Congdons are responsible for my current employment so this is a little thank you to them. The pictures are just something to look at. If you really want to see the inspiration for this work of genius, come on up to Glensheen, I’ll probably be there.
